This class will be offered twice in the spring:
Two Sundays, April 19 and 26, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Two Sundays, June 7 and 14, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
$180, all supplies included (teens-adult)
This class takes place at the Instructors studio on Greenbluff
This is an intro and intermediate level workshop where students will work in clay learning hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, and slab work to create functional objects. For example, cups, mugs, bowls, vases, or
embellished box structures. Students will learn a variety of interesting ways to create designs and alter forms in the clay. Students will also learn design techniques through glaze application.
Week One – Introduction to the instructor, facility, clay, and tools.
Week Two – Introduction to using glazes and the ceramic firing process.
Students finished(fired) work will be available for pickup at the Spokane Art School or Crimson Barn Creations within one week after final class.
Please bring and apron to protect your clothing and pottery tools. Basic tools will be available to borrow during workshop if needed. There will a 30 minute break for lunch so bring a lunch and drink. There is a refrigerator on site for cold storage.
The class registration fee will show as Ticket Goat on your bank statement. The instructor will have a list of names, so tickets are not necessary.
- Washington State law (ESSB 5814) requires that certain services be taxed when sold. Art classes fall under this new law and we are required to charge sales tax on all in-person and online classes.
- Refunds or class credit will not be issued for missed classes.
- Refunds will only be issued in the event of a class cancellation by the Spokane Art School.
- Preregistration is required for all classes. Instructors can not take payments.
- Online registration closes 48 hours before the class begins.
- Classes with fewer than three registrations will be cancelled and the registration fee will be refunded.
