This class takes place at the instructor's studio in Greenbluff.
This is an intro and intermediate level workshop where students will work in clay learning hand-building techniques to create one coil built functional object and one slab-built functional object for use. For example, a cup, mug, bowl, vase, or box. Students will learn interesting ways to create designs in the clay and through glaze application.
Week 1. Introduction to the instructor, facility, clay, and tools. Students will create a hand-built form using the coil-building technique and the slab-building technique. Students will learn design techniques to embellish their work.
Week 2. – Students will learn different glaze applications and a variety of ways to create designs on their bisque fired work.
Students finished (fired) work will be available for pickup at the Spokane Art School or Crimson Barn Creations within one week after final class meeting time.
There will be a half hour lunch break. A refrigerator is available for lunch storage.
