The Content Treadmill: What Social Media Burnout Is Costing You & Your Business

Hosted By Mamas In Business

You’ve been showing up on social media, posting consistently, doing all the things you were told would work — but have you stopped to ask whether any of it is bringing you clients? In this workshop, Cara Chace breaks down the real cost of the content treadmill: the hours spent, what gets pushed aside in those hours, and the nervous system toll of marketing that was never designed to help your business grow. You’ll leave with two practical frameworks you can use the same week and a clear-eyed look at what you could be building instead. This session is for every woman in business who is tired of creating content and ready to build something that compounds over time.

More About This Event

How many hours did you spend on social media content this week — filming, editing, writing captions, scheduling posts, responding to comments, starting over when the algorithm changed the rules again? Now the harder question: do you know whether any of it brought you a single client? Most women in business have never stopped long enough to do that math, not because they aren’t smart or strategic, but because the treadmill doesn’t come with a stop button. It just gets faster.

In this session, Cara Chace breaks down the real cost of the content treadmill: the hours, the mental load, and the nervous system toll of marketing that was built to keep you on the platform, not to grow your business. There’s a physiological reason the pressure never fully lets up even on your days off, and it has nothing to do with your discipline or consistency. You’ll leave this workshop understanding exactly why that is, and more importantly, what to do about it.

You’ll walk away with two frameworks to take home and use the same week: a filter for running anything on your plate through the question of whether it’s worth your time, energy, and attention; and a lens for understanding what season your business is really in right now, because the content treadmill assumes every week is summer and your business doesn’t work that way. You’ll also get a glimpse of the marketing foundations that compound over time, the ones that keep working whether you posted this week or not.

Cara’s forthcoming book, The Social Media Burnout Cure, launches in September 2026, and this workshop is your first look inside.

Cara Chace's Bio

Cara Chace is an author and burnout coach helping women entrepreneurs build sustainable, anti-hustle businesses without trashing their nervous systems. She built what she wishes she’d had when she burned out — when the planners, the productivity hacks, and the color-coded calendars left her more exhausted, more behind, and more resentful than when she started. Through Chaos Detox, her signature course, and her forthcoming book on social media burnout, Cara teaches women how to stop white-knuckling their way through the week and start building a business that fits the life they’re actually living.

She’s the host of the Ditch the Chaos podcast, a 10-year entrepreneur, and a former Special Agent. She lives in Idaho with her family and runs her business with margin, intention, and a deep aversion to hustle culture and being told what to do.
