Ages teen-adult
This class will focus on basic techniques like washes, wet-on-wet, blending, glazing, negative painting, and color mixing. The first part of each class will be spent practicing a technique and the second part using it within a painting.
Week One: Value chart and mixing black/grey – two monochromatic landscape paintings using a graded wash and a flat wash, building up layers, and wet-on-wet.
Week Two: Wet-on-Wet vs. Wet-on-Dry, Mixing secondary colors and Using Secondary Colors.
Week Three: Wet-on-dry, glazing techniques, and leaving white space
Week Four: Negative Painting
Week Five: Use all previous techniques in final landscape painting plus stippling.
